Fourth Community Outreach Session in Hudur-Tubboy by ANPPCAN-SOM

On August 5th, 2024, ANPPCAN-SOM was able to convene the fourth round of our awareness creation meeting in Hudur-Tubboy village. The one-day affair deliberately targeted 30 participants, with 16 women and 14 men, to give exposure to existing peace committees.

Objective and Agenda

The main objective of this session was to empower the peace committees with the underpinning tools needed for handling community conflict resolution, reconciliation, and reintegration. By endowing them with the tools and knowledge, we believe that in turn, they can achieve sustainable peace for all members of the community.

Roles and Functions of Peace Committees – Participants deepen their understanding of the roles and responsibilities within the Peace Committees and they got insights in which their contributions can make peace and facilitate harmonious co-existence. Conflict Resolution: This was achieved through practical examples to make the participants be able to solve disputes within the communities more effectively.
Reconciliation and Reintegration: There was an emphasis on the strategies of successful reconciliation and reintegration, having a view to encouraging a more participatory and uniting community environment.
Empowering the Community

16 Female and 14 Male participants show our commitment to gender inclusivity and our understanding that peacebuilding is a whole community effort. Strengthening the peace committees builds a community with increased resilience and harmony.

Looking Forward

The ANPPCAN-SOM sees this as a milestone today within a process to sustain peace in the village of Hudur-Tubboy, hence planning to keep up the building of capacities and supporting local peace committees since it believes in a system of community managements of processes of conflict resolution, reconciliation, and reintegration of children.

All of us at Hudur-Tubboy are very thankful for all the participants and their enthusiasm and dedication to the noble cause. Thereby, we collectively shape a better peaceful future for the people of Hudur-Tubboy and beyond.
