Protections, GBV and SRHR

Child Protection

ANPPCANSOM is determined to provide Child protection measures. This includes the adoption of national legislation prohibiting all forms of violence against children in all settings, policy measures promoting child rights, awareness-raising and education for children, parents, and society at large, proactive policy and outreach measures especially to discriminated against groups, parenting and family support, adoption of universal and integrated strategies to reduce child poverty, mechanisms for children to claim their rights, links with other policy areas and robust data collection. ANPPCANSOM as a focal point institution for “Nairobi process1” plays a great role in supporting children associated with Armed groups (CAAFAG) in order to listen to their experiences and ideas for the reintegration of children back into a peaceful life.

GBV & Women Empowerment

ANPPCANSOMS recognizes the importance of efficient women empowerment and safeguarding women’s rights by tackling all forms of violations against women and girls; empowering women and girls to alleviate the suffering caused by GBV practices by developing policies and laws that promote gender equality; GBV prevention and survivors support services include capacity building of communities, local partners and our staff on Clinical Management of Rape (CMR), GBV and PSS.

Improve community-based child projection systems in IDP settlements in Somalia

ANPPCANSOM is focused on strengthening child protection in Somalia’s IDP settlements. We advocate for and enforce national laws against all forms of violence towards children. Our initiatives include promoting child rights through policy, education, and awareness, with special attention to marginalized groups. As a key player in the “Nairobi process,” we support the reintegration of children associated with armed groups (CAAFAG), ensuring they transition back to peaceful lives. Our comprehensive approach includes proactive outreach, family support, poverty reduction strategies, and robust data collection to safeguard every child’s future.

Youth and Women empowerment

ANPPCANSOMS recognizes the importance of efficient women empowerment and safeguarding women’s rights by tackling all forms of violations against women and girls; empowering women and girls to alleviate the suffering caused by GBV practices by developing policies and laws that promote gender equality; women economic empowerment; leverage women’s involvement and participation in peace/state-building, conflict transformation, governance democratization process in Somalia for them influence policy decisions affecting them.
